Last night Adventure new profession?
So today we did our last minute shopping and then I attempted to pack....got so far but I still have a few things to get together, but of course its 11 pm and I am procrastinating big time!
I am exhausted too, this should be fun!
So tonight we go out to dinner with a reservation for 10 people but there were actually 14 of us. One of the ladies is moving so it was a goodbye dinner for her basically. The restaurant was a fancy Chinese one and huge! So because there were too many of us we asked for a private room, which was out down and around and up this really cool courtyard. Had it not been so dark I would have taken pictures. After everything gets sorted out we eat and my dad and the other 2 guys had to leave to make calls for work so us ladies stayed and chatted. Well there ended up being 10 of us, and 4 were able to get a ride back with their driver but the rest of us were taking taxi's. Well we walk down the street and there are 6 of us and another group of people hailing a cab so we figure we can walk down to a busier street and find one. Well we keep walking and walking, and walking and these cars keep stopping to give us a ride, but they are normal cars not taxi's and who knows where we'd end up. So we decline and end up in the seedy Russian area known for its ladies of the night, and we find a taxi but he can't figure out where the heck we are trying to go so we have to let him meanwhile a car pulls up with two men in it they roll down their windows and then I see one get out and pick this woman appears out of no where, well they were making a deal... it was crazy to me... well we pass the same taxi guy again who we have to let go on and keep walking, and its freezing I can't feel my lips and hands or toes and I have to pee really really bad... but we finally were able to find one and made it home safely.

11 count down 1 full day to go
Worked out, lunch with the ladies and shopping!!! I got all I needed and more, and picked up my clothes from the tailor, which I LOVE!! If I lived here, I'd have all of my clothes custom made! I picked out the buttons and the material and it turned out well I think! Dinner at a middle eastern restaurant where of course I ate too much!
Only one day left, how sad... my trip went by too fast.

10
I woke up early and worked out, got ready went to lunch with the ladies. It was really good a 3 course meal. Lentil soup, risotto and passion fruit sorbet...yeah I have no been eating Chinese food that much at all surprisingly, but the places I've been are high quality restaurants at such a great price. We then went for our Monday massages, my lady today was a bit to rough even when I said to be a little less rough, it felt good though.
This afternoon I helped my moms friends with photoshop, hopefully they can understand it and do some fun stuff with it.
We were supposed to go out to this Turkish Restuarant for dinner, but the guys came up to work on our water filter and it took so long that I had to go pick my dad up and then we ended up going for pizza and walked home. As we left the restuarant and reached the street there was a speaker on a pole playing music and these old couples were dancing their hearts out, it was so cute! Nothing fancy at all but they were having a good time so it was cool, had I liked to dance it would have been fun.
My mom was not feeling well at all tonight so I really hope tomorrow she feels better, we have shopping to do :)

Day 8 and 9
The Great Wall and Summer Palace
Dad and I went to the great wall. There was still some snow up there so it was quite beautiful. I had on 3 pairs of socks, 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts and a jacket, I was too warm! The place we went if you went to the left it was mainly just hilly few stairs mainly uphill but we went to the right and it's downhill and a ton of steps, going down is great coming back ughh! I looked back and was like oh man....is all uphill from now, it was quite a work out. I was glad I hadn't worn anything nice because I sweated through it.
We went out to lunch and then to this flower market and out to dinner last night with my parents friends. It was ladies nights so we got free margarita's which were pretty week, and I was sitting on the end next to this new couple so I had the mindset that I had to drink as much as I can to get through this, but my dad sat with me and the people were nice of course. They were actually really weak and my dad said he didn't taste any alcohol at all. It just got too smoky after while and then it's just not enjoyable...no matter how much you drink I hate the smoke.
This morning I worked out (Zach no Mr. Li) and then we went to the Summer Palace. We were supposed to go to this other park closer but Mr. Xu got in his head to take us to Summer Palace and nothing was stopping him! This one road was closed or backed up so he turned around and went back up a one way street, and no not a street a HIGHWAY that he just turns round and drives the wrong way... totally common here. He did it again later when he started going up this highway over pass but realized it was the wrong way backed down it and after being honked at a million times made it down and back into the flow of traffic. Crazy crazy crazy!
My ears are quite sensitive and hurt if it's cold out so I have been wearing my hat and today I forgot it so it was my scarf wrapped around my head...

day 7
GOING BY SO FAST!!
My mom woke me up early so we could go to the zoo and see the pandas. It was nice and cold out and she kept throwing snowballs at me. We met this old Chinese man who kept asking a ton of questions to my mom, and then me, nice, he was a volunteer at the zoo. He told me he worked on the first computer in Beijing in 1957, and a lot of old men here just stay home watch tv and read newspaper, but he still uses his brain and talks to people. He kept poking me though as he was talking probably oblivious that it was my boob (I keep wearing my dad's jacket because it's warm so its basically shapeless)...then he was also spitting as he talked and my germaphobe self kept wanting to back up and get away so no spit would get in/on me...he was nice though and good for him to enjoy himself in old age.
We met dad for lunch, dropped him back off at work went shopping, stopped to get our nails done walked home, and then happy hour tonight.
Toilet paper anyone? this guy was going around selling it!
